Why a new blogger should always start blogging with blogger platform?

Blogger and WordPress are the two Popular Blogging Platform. Most of the professional bloggers recommends everyone to start blogging with self hosted wordPress blog but my thinking is a bit different.According to me,Every new blogger should start blogging with Blogger platform.I have multiple reasons in support of my claim.Blogger has made so many improvements in last few years and is doing exceptionally well.Normally, most of the bloggers write about the advantages of self hosted WordPress blog over Blogger but very few of them write about the advantages of Blogger which creates confusion among new bloggers.

Why a new Blogger should always start blogging with blogger platform?

The reason in support of my claim are given below:

#1-completely free

One of the best Benefit of Blogger Platform is that,it is completely free. There is no need to pay anything to hosting companies. However your blog will have domain name format in .blogspot.com.To use custom domains like xy.com,xyz.net etc ,you will have to purchase a domain name which cost only $10.

For starting a Self hosted wordPress blog, you will have to purchase a domain name and hosting space which is too costly for a new blogger.

#2- Start your blog within minutes

Starting a blog with Blogger is like creating a new email account. If you already have a GMail account then simply open blogger.com,Name your blog, choose a template and start writing contents.Isn’t that too easy.

Same is not the case with self hosted wordPress blog. You need to upload the WordPress software on the root and create databases as well which can be difficult for a new blogger. However now almost all hosting sites provide a 5 minute wordPress installation through as service called “Softaculous” which makes everything easy.

#3- No issue of spam

WordPress blogs receives so many Spams. To manage Spams, bloggers use Anti-Spam plugins. However this is not an issue in blogger. It manages everything automatically which is a big relief for bloggers.

#4-No risk of being hacked

Self Hosted WordPress blogs are prone to hackers and thus getting hacked daily.Hackers can access your database and can destroy the complete site in one go.This is probably the reason why you should always take the backup of your blog.

This is not the case with blogger.Blogger is hosted on cloud computing which is very difficult to hack.

#5- Easily customizable

Blogger comes with HTML Editor which allows you to customize the look of your blog from a single place. You can make changes by navigating to Blogger Dashboard>>Settings>>Templates>>Edit Template. If you have good knowledge of html and css,you can utilize it without any issue. In addition to this, several sites also provides Professional Blogger templates for free which means even a newbie can enhane the look of their blog by using these custom templates.

#6-Good SEO

Self Hosted WordPress blogs makes the use of SEO plugins for search engine optimization. In blogger, there is no need to do something like that.It provides you an option to use custom Permalinks and Separate meta description for posts. The screenshot of the same is shown below:

Custom Permalinks

Separate Description of each Posts

Search engine crawlers is best known for parsing html contents.Blogger use html contents so it has advantages over WordPress.

#7 – Automatic submission in blogger’s blog directory

When you create a blog on Blogger,it automatically get listing in Blogger’s Blog directory. You can turn off this option through settings as well.It means, you are getting free promotion and traffic.

Self Hosted WordPress blog doesn’t provide any such facility. To popularize your blog, you must submit your blog in different blog directories manually.

#8- Power server(like dedicated)

Blogger sites use powerful server.Due to this, they never slow down. This is not the case with WordPress blog.If you are using a shared web hosting package then your site can load slow or even go down which can lead a negative impact on search engines.Due to this, you can loose your ranking as well.

Then why people use self Hosted WordPress Blog?

You can ask this question “If blogger is free and comes with so many features then why people use self hosted wordPress blogs? Why don’t they use blogger all the time?”.The answer are as follows:

• Google can delete a Blogger blog anytime without giving any prior notice. However it only happens when you will violate the TOS of Blogger.
• You can’t sell your Blogger blog even after using custom domain because it is illegal. This is not the case with WordPress blog.
• WordPress blogs are easy due to the use of multiple Plugins which doesn’t require any kind of html, css or javascript knowledge.
